National Partnership for Community Leadership (NPCL)

The focus of NPCL's work is on building strong families by helping local and community-based agencies develop and implement services that enable parents to be the best they can be. Research indicates that children born in low-income families are more likely to experience poverty, crime, low educational achievement, and early pregnancy. Without the support and involvement of agencies trained and empowered by NPCL to work effectively with families, many children grow up with fragile family support systems.

Saving Our Children

Our Nation is in a state of emergency. Every 40 seconds a child is reported missing in the United States. Of these missing children, under 45 percent are African American children who are being torn from their families. It is crucial that the African American Community in our country become more involved in the safety of these precious children. There are astronomical numbers of abused, missing and murdered African American children that fail to get the needed exposure in the media. Very rarely are their precious little faces posted on milk cartons and bulletin boards, or reported on network and cable news shows. Our mission is to make the African American communities in our country aware of the plight of these children and to make them a community/national priority. For more information, please call Saving Our Children at: 516-333-9882
